Reflexology

We often forget how fascinating and essential our feet are. Not only there are over 7,000 nerve endings on the soles of our feet, but also a quarter of our body's bones. They support us every day of our life, tirelessly taking us places, often trapped in tight fitting shoes or high heels....and we take them for granted, abuse them and, a lot of the time, dislike them.  

There is a whole network of energetic and sensorial channels wrapped in and around your feet, each corresponding to a specific organ, muscle, bone, but also emotions, memories and thoughts; an electric grid map of your whole being. 

Reflexology, similarly to Acupuncture and Acupressure, understands the connection between those nerve endings, or pressure points, and every part of our body, mind and spirit, and when the energy channels are broken or blocked, it works with the body to facilitate self-healing and bring back balance.

The simple relaxation derived from the treatment calms the sympathetic system, which is our flight or fight mode, and stimulates the parasympathetic system, our resting state, allowing our body and mind to take a break, recharge and self-heal.

Meridian Reflexology

Meridian Reflexology is based on the Chinese concept of energy channels travelling through our body transporting our life force (known as Chi or Qi in China and Ki in Japan).

Basically, meridians are a circulatory system of energy, much like the circulatory system of blood. The Meridians follow the concept of Yin (inward energy) and Yang (outward energy) and the Five Elements theory (wood, fire, earth, metal and water).

Each meridian regulates specific functions and affects the body differently, from a physical, emotional and mental aspect.

Meridian Reflexology works to rebalance the energy flow and remove potential blockages to implement wellbeing.

Reflexology for Menopause 

Reflexology for Menopause adds a more in-depth work on re-balancing the hormones during this transitioning phase in women’s life. It focuses on longer relaxation techniques, to help with the anxiety, fear, discomfort and the overwhelming sensations brought upon by menopause.

It involves a more thorough understanding of the endocrine system, the function of oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone in our body and how their fluctuation and decrease affect women.

Duration is approximate, I tend to be thorough and I don't look at the clock, so please allow for extra time. Please allow for a minimum of 48 hours cancellation/rescheduling period. A minimum charge of £20 will be applied otherwise, but this will constitute part payment towards the next treatment.
